At a time when most roasteries rely on gas or electric roasters, we deliberately choose a different path. We roast our coffee beans over beechwood fire – slowly, controlled, with plenty of time and care. This method offers several advantages:

  • The temperature inside the bean rises more slowly – allowing more time for the development of fine aromas and less aggressive acids. 
  • The wood flame and accompanying air movement promote even roasting and gentle heat transfer, resulting in a soft, aromatic coffee with character.

  2. Drum Roasting over Beechwood Fire: In slow drum rotation, we roast the beans over beechwood fire – a process that requires time and expertise.
  3. Roasting Profile and Uniformity: The roasting time is longer than usual – only then do we achieve the desired aroma, body, and acidity profile. Expert literature indicates that with wood fire roasting, the bean temperature rises more slowly, allowing more time for aroma development. 
  4. Gentle Cooling & Packaging: After roasting, the beans cool down quickly, are freshly packed into our climate-neutral bags with aroma protection valves, and then rest for a few days – before they are available freshly roasted in the online shop.
